Dear Mom and Dad,
This week in Chapel we looked at how God has given each of us special abilities. We helped your child(ren) see the need to be faithful in using his or her abilities to serve Him. When some people hear the term “servant” or “serve” they consider it a lowly position, but Jesus considers serving a high position. In fact, Jesus said it is better to serve than to be served; He said that He came to serve rather than to be served. We challenged your child(ren) to develop a servant’s heart and to use his or her abilities to serve others. We focused on how God has given each of us different abilities, and that part of our faithfulness is choosing to use our abilities to serve God and not just ourselves. Perhaps you can take a moment this week to commend your child(ren) on their abilities and just casually mention how they could use those abilities to serve God. A remark like that could go a long way toward helping your child(ren) see the significance of what they can do. Carmen Miller FBCA Chaplain Comments are closed.
