Kindergarten Teacher
-Bachelor from McNeese State University in 2008
-Masters of Art in Teaching from McNeese State University in 2010
-LA certified in Early Intervention, Prek-3, Grades 1-5, and Social Studies in Middle & High School

I have been teaching kindergarten at FBCA since 2013, and I was blessed to be mentored by Mrs. Gail Guillote before she retired. I love teaching at a Christian school and being able to have meaningful discussions with my students and coworkers about God's love and forgiveness. It is a pleasure to be in a daily environment that encourages prayer, scripture, and praise. I love my school, and I have been fortunate enough to work with some amazing individuals. It has been a true blessing to be able to teach young minds, and I look forward to seeing how my students grow and prosper throughout the years. Our ABEKA curriculum in kindergarten has been, by far, the most advanced and rewarding curriculum I have had the pleasure of teaching. I can not wait to get to know you and your little blessing! Welcome to our family!

Assignments and Notes Home

- Please check your child's BEE Book daily for notes, completed work, and initial their daily behavior on the calendar.

- Please be sure to go over any completed work sent home with your child.  If they missed anything on the paper, it will be marked.  By practicing at home, you can greatly assist your child in learning these skills.  Please keep up the great work and practice, practice, practice!

- Weekly Bible Verses we are learning will be sent home in the BEE Book on an individual card.  You can also find the verse on a paper in your child's BEE Book.

- If you have not signed up for my Bloomz notices, please let me know and we can get you signed up for all of the reminders and information I send out periodically.

Graded Papers and Homework:

-  Kindergarten only takes participation grades during the first nine week period.  Please use this time to practice anything being sent home that your child needs more practice with.  Beginning right before the second nine weeks begin, we will start graded papers.  Important papers and graded papers will be sent home on Take Home Tuesdays.  You will find them in your child's BEE BOOK.  Please be sure to review them and return ALL of the graded papers with your signature the following day.  Since kindergarten does not accumulate graded papers as quickly as upper grades, there may be a week that will be combined with the next week.

- Homework will be located in the homework sleeve in their BEE BOOK.  Homework is due the following day.  In the beginning, homework will be completing an assignment for the letter being reviewed that day, or some type of math practice.  Once we begin reading groups, homework will mostly consist of reading out of their readers and short story books. Please make sure to sign the reading books on the signature form on the back on the book once homework is completed that night.

News & Information

- Chapel is on every Wednesday.  You are welcome to attend! Please be sure to sign in at the front desk as a visitor.

- Please be sure to send your child with 2 napkins, a drink, and plenty of healthy food for lunch daily. Some students are still hungry after eating their lunches and I have a very limited amount of my own lunch to share.  A full belly helps with learning. Thank you for understanding!

- Kindergarten GRADUATION will be on the evening of May 18th.  It will be held in the old sanctuary.  This is the last day of school for kindergarten, and everything will be sent home with your child on that day.

- Please be sure to sign up for the SCHOOL Remind as you will get notices and updates about school functions, activities, etc.

- FBCA's yearly calendar is posted on the website, and I have included a copy below.  Please review it for important dates and holiday schedules. There is NO SCHOOL for students on inservice days.

** Make sure you keep your child's Name Tag in view during car pick-up.  This will ensure that no matter what teacher is on duty, your child will be sent to the correct cone location.  This will assist in the car pick-up line running quickly and smoothly, as well as help keep every child safe.  Thank you for your support!
